Just a little update.
I’m so sorry I have left you guys hanging these last few weeks. I finally got a new car and everything with my accident sorted out. I know C is still around. She’s been having internet issues, but should be back very soon.
I would really like to stress again that I am in no way ever abandoning this RP. But with me running everything by myself, when shit like my car accident happens, it leaves this blog at a stand still until I can get it all worked out. Which is why I REALLY, REALLY need some help.
Please, if you are interested in being a mod, PLEASE message me. You have no idea how much of a blessing you would be. Gonna be doing an activity check this week to see how many people are still with us.
Starting tonight after I get out of class I’m gonna do start doing promoting again. If you are in other RPs, tell everyone to come take a look. I have so many storyline ideas for the future, but we need bodies and characters.
Jax here. I’m sorry I’ve been so absent. Like I said, I was in my accident, and I just found out tonight one of my best friends was also in a car accident this week and may be going to jail for manslaughter because the person in the car with her died at the scene. I’ve just been dealing with a lot and am going to support her in court tomorrow and then going to try to visit her inside before this weekend.
Just bear with me please. I know things have been slow. But like I said, it’s hard when I don’t have any help. If you guys want to do some of your own promo for the RP right now, that would be much appreciated. Tell all your others RP friends to join us or at least check out our page. Anything. And if anyone is interested in being an admin please let me know. I’m always logged onto aim (email@example.com)
I’m so sorry again for my absense. When real life catches up to you, it seems to do it all at once. Just be patient. I’m not giving up on this RP at all. I’ve put too much work into it now. I will always be here. I promise.
Jax here. Hey guys. I’m really sorry for not being on the last few days. I was out of town, and then got in a car accident Friday night. I’m fine, I’m just gonna be dealing with shit with my car the next few days. If you need me, message me on AIM (firstname.lastname@example.org).
I want to thank those that have done the prompt already, even though it’s not required. I’ll be posting one myself last this week. And thank you everyone for sticking with us. I know things have gotten a little slow lately, but I promise you I’m working on it. Just difficult doing it all myself.
Hang with me.
001. The Turning Point
It’s time to bring the writing prompts back. Think of this as an experiment to see how many open and excited writers that we have here. The prompts are not required, but they challenge us as writers and help us get to know our own characters a little more and will maybe even open up each other for future plots. This is fun!
This prompt is all about digging into the past. All of our characters are supers here. They are all special. And there came a time in all their lives when they realized they were special. It was a turning point. Explore that moment. That moment of discovery. Was it the first time they used magic? The first time they tasted human blood? The first time they took a life? Perhaps it wasn’t until after they arrived at Darkwood.
Write this prompt in para form and challenge yourself. Attempt to write at least three paragraphs and tag the post with “darkwoodprompt”.

Leon DuLac || 30 || FC: Santiago Cabrera || 1st generation hunter || Open
The soul of Leon DuLac has always been lost. This isn’t the first time he’s walked the Earth, and it certainly won’t be the last. A man that is destined to serve his best friend and great leader for all eternity, he is constantly in search of what will make him whole. Once, he was a knight, a friend, and a loyal servant. His life and his betrayal passed into legend and would forever scorn him. Since his death in the times of the Round Table, the soul of Lancelot DuLac has been waiting to be reborn and seek atonement. Upon the birth of Leon DuLac to an English mother and French father, his quest began. Although Leon has no memories of his passed life as the great knight, there has always been something in his life that has been amiss and he is constantly in search of the missing piece of his heart. He wasn’t aware of the presence of the supernatural world, until saving a wayward girl from the attack of a vampire. All he knew was that for the first time, things felt right. This is what he needed to be doing.
Leon was an amateur. Learning as he went, but the natural fighting talent seemed to be coming from somewhere. Sometimes he would pick up a sword and he just knew how to fight. He didn’t need to learn. It just happened. His hands felt at home on the hilt. While tracking a pack of deadly werewolves that were ravaging a small English town he met Arthur Young and Qwynn Deschane, hunters with a much wider knowledge of this world than him. However, because of his fighting skills, he easily found a place with them. The hole that he always seemed to feel in his chest was finally full. Part of him had no idea what he was doing, but Leon put trust in fate and destiny. He was walking directly into the unknown, but he knew this was where he belonged. Kind, brave, and with a gentle heart, Leon did not object to joining the Covenant along with his new friends.
Qwynn Deschane || 32 || FC: Eion Macken || 2nd generation hunter || Open
Qwynn was only six months old when his mother was killed by a demon. His father was barely able to carry him to safety before the house was engulfed in flames. In his grief, a whole new world was opened up to him. There was more that lurked in the darkness and the shadows than he ever could have imagined. He couldn’t go back to living a normal life with a normal job. He couldn’t ignore the darkness that was constantly lurking. Taking his infant son he disappeared to learn more about this war that he never realized was happening and what he could do to help stop it. As the years went by Qwynn was raised on the road, with only his father and the other occasional hunter as company. It was a lonely childhood to say the least. He grew up cold and hardened to any affection and didn’t like taking orders. Especially from his father. He was bitter about not having a choice in lifestyle and by the time he was of age, he disappeared. He may have had the skill and the knowledge to be a hunter, but he just didn’t care. He wanted a life that he chose.
Qwynn hadn’t heard from his father or had any known contact with the supernatural world for near ten years until a demon decided to take his newlywed wife’s skin for a ride. Forced to kill her, Qwynn was pulled back into this supernatural war with a raging force. Fueled by revenge at the death of his wife, he still wasn’t the same young hunter that disappeared 10 years ago. Time away from blood and war made him carefree and lighthearted. After meeting with a psychic to track down a certain demon, it wasn’t just a location that she gave him in return. She told him who he used to be. Not when he was a kid, but who he was before this life. When he was a Knight of the Round Table. Since rejoining the hunting world, Qwynn crossed paths with hunter Arthur Young and joined him on the Covenant. Since teaming up with the younger hunter everything seemed to fall into place. Like he has finally found where he belonged. And strange as it is…he’s been having dreams. Of another life, another time. As crazy as it is, Qwynn doesn’t think this is the first time that he’s fought alongside Arthur, and started to believe everything that psychic told him was in fact the truth. Willing to follow this man into Hell itself, Qwynn is a loyal friend to have and an even better hunter to have covering your back.
Elias Ryder || 35 || FC: Corey Taylor || 1st generation hunter || Taken
What happens when you lose everything? Do you push yourself to rise above it, or do you crumble? For some, the choice is simple, but for Elias, the choice was never as simple as one would think. Growing up in a prestigious hunting family on the outskirts of Ireland had its perks. One, he always had access to hunting grounds that honed his natural instincts, and two, there was always something to kill. Whether it be a banshee or a nest of vampires, Elias never found himself bored and laughed in the face of danger. One night, while he was out on a hunt, he noticed a plume of smoke in the distance, and started towards it. He wound up in a small clearing where several men were huddled around a bonfire, drinking to their heart’s content. They asked him to join, and, without hesitation, he joined in the festivities. To this day, he still can’t tell anybody what happened that night, because, the next morning, when he woke to the scent of the extinguished fire, his new friends had disappeared, and had left him there in the clearing. Quickly, he started towards home, only to find that the house had been destroyed with his family inside. Consumed with rage, Elias put out a call and rallied other hunters in the area to no avail. Not a single one showed up. After some research, he found out that his family had sent out a call to the other hunters after his absence, asking for any information as to where Elias had disappeared to. When none could come up with a response, he was immediately considered a deserter and cast out from the hunting community. They blamed him for his family’s death. After some time, Elias became a recluse, slowly trying to rebuild from the ashes his reputation and his well-being, taking on small hunts here and there whenever he had the time between bouts of drinking and depression.
Now, Elias has other goals in mind. Not long after he stepped out of hiding and stopped drinking, he heard of a school called Darkwood Creek that was rising from the ashes of the war. A sanctuary for supernatural creatures far and wide. A place where the amount of killing to be done was enough to make a hunter salivate. He quickly booked his flight to the outskirts of New York, and took up residence somewhere in the woods to see what would happen, daring anybody to step into the folds of the trees, for he was waiting. He still had something to prove to himself, and this was the start of something incredible. A new chapter in the life of Elias Ryder. When he was finished, all of Darkwood Creek would be nothing but cinders under his feet. The final act in a play that had ran on stage for far too long. Elias is cold and distant to other hunters, seeing them as nothing more than the gears of a machine that betrayed him. He often likes to work alone, and is one of the strongest of the hunters even if his short temper sometimes gets in the way of his judgement. If one had the ability to get close to him, they would find the heart of a tortured genius, a sharp wit, and the barrel of a gun to their face. Elias has no time for friends, but rivals are an entirely different story, as they keep him hyper focused on the goal he has set for himself.
Brian “Synyster” || Age Unknown || FC: Brian Haner Jr || Rogue || Taken
Brian doesn’t quite know how old he is any more, all he knows is that he lived long before the Pharaohs of Egypt fell. What’s age when you’re dead? He’s seen the rise and fall of civilizations, he’s had his hand in many of their downfalls personally. He’s one of the definitions of the old breed, the old age of supremacy, no council – hunters were the ones being hunted and he was the top predator. In an unlikely twist of fate, he became a teacher at Darkwood Creek but left in pursuit of bigger things with Shadows – which ultimately led to his capture by the Council. Thought to be dead, Synyster was in fact subdued and put into a chemically induced sleep, and when he wasn’t asleep – he was being tortured. While agents of the Council began the task of putting their subdued ancient to use. The project, named Zero (a bid to protect the knowledge of who exactly it was), was designed to turn Syn into something they could use to put down those that defied the Council itself. Except they didn’t bank on him waking up. And he woke up enraged. Raising the facility to the ground and butchering all inside, the vampire found himself drawn back to Darkwood to rest, recuperate and search for answers, and search for his companion.
